2k11_iv_vii april is here and spring is in the air

Well, a light theme for a starter...the image banks were full of pranksters offering novel ideas for those unwary souls...only to be greeted with an April Fools Day.

New images for those interested in the concepts of international trade in oil and petroleum. The main idea is Liquid Gold. This expression is applied to any liquid commodity that takes on inordinate value due to circumstances. But I will leave that part to the experts...

I will try to illustrate the all embracing, monolithic type of aura that surrounds oil, as an everyday reality in all of our lives. Gold and barrels are two visual elements that identify this type of power, as is the dollar sign.

I will include here a couple of small images.

2k11_iii_xxix a little background information

I have been remiss about presenting myself. I know it is my blog but I have not presented my current ideas. I am trying to generate a collection of 3D images for use by designers and other people through image banks.

My images are, currently, on Dreamstime.com.

I have been in images and imaging for a good number of years. I have seen the paradigm change from film, large format cameras and darkrooms to DSLRs and Photoshop.

Hidden behind all this was 3D imaging…a form of illustration that is just imagination and then technique. It can run from caricature or cartoon imagery, with or without motion, to hyper realism that begs nothing from a photo.

 
I fall somewhere in between…sort of commercial imagery but without the need for all the production, studio, cameras or lights.

I am limited to products and product related ideas since some things like people or places can be difficult to achieve.

So, if anybody lands here inadvertently, and would like to leave me an opinion, I would be very grateful.

2k11_iii_xxvii continuing with my small but growing collection of images for everybody

My next collection is about ten pin bowling. I am not a bowler, so I beg for patience from the bowling community. If anybody reads this, browses the picture and finds any glaring mistakes, I would enjoy instruction and correction, since I would like my images to reasonably accurate.

I am trying to illustrate some marvelously descriptive names like Bed Posts, Big Ears, Greek Church or Cathedral, Grandma´s Teeth, Clothesline amongst others. These are all splits that are difficult to pick up or achieve to make a spare.

As I develope the images, I will post them.

2k11_ii_xiv just trying to keep up to date

To say something I need to have something to say...something that I feel might be interesting to other people. This is aggravated by the fact that I don't really know anything about the infinite mass of anonymous people who are out there or why they might fall into my space.

So, in a sense, I am writing for my own benefit..to know what I am thinking..express it..and then decide if that IS what I am thinking.

In Spanish they say..Pensando en la inmortalidad del cangrejo..thinking on the immortality of a crab.

I commented on an incursion into 3D images since I felt that the paradigm of photography had changed drastically with the advent of digital cameras. I enjoyed the change from film both as a challenge and for the immense possibilities that the digital media had to offer. But, as a commercial venture, particularly in Venezuela, the aspect of...free on the Internet and I get good enough images with my own camera..has eaten into the middle of the road photographers such as myself. From readings on the Internet, this is not exclusive to Venezuela.

Hence, the incursion into 3D since I want to stay in imaging (after 40 years of experience in the medium) since I still need to earn a living.

I understand that I need to learn more about socializing and helping. I am not averse to helping but I don't know who to help and with what to help or contribute.
